Eligibility
For Assistant Professor Grade-II (Level 10): A Ph.D. degree is mandatory. No prior teaching or research experience is required. Candidates must be shortlisted based on possessing at least one degree from IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, institutions with NIRF overall rank up to 100, or universities abroad ranked up to 500 in the QS world ranking. Quality publications in SCI/SCIE/SSCI/SCOPUS indexed journals are expected.
For Assistant Professor Grade-I (Level 12): A Ph.D. degree is required along with a minimum of 3 years of post-Ph.D. teaching or research experience on a regular scale from reputed institutions (IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, institutions with NIRF rank up to 100 in the last 3 years, or universities abroad ranked in QS top 500). Alternatively, 6 years of total teaching and research experience is acceptable. Candidates must accumulate 20 cumulative essential credit points through research outputs such as sponsored projects, patents, consultancy, Ph.D. supervision, journal and conference publications, textbooks, and professional fellowships.

Salary
Assistant Professor Grade-I (Level 12): Pay Level 12 as per the 7th CPC (pre-revised AGP ₹8,000).
Assistant Professor Grade-II (Level 10, On Contract): Pay Level 10 as per the 7th CPC (pre-revised AGP ₹6,000).
Selection Process
Stage-I – Written Examination: A multiple-choice test will be conducted offline at IIIT Pune. This stage is qualifying only; wrong answers may attract negative marking of 1/4. The cut-off is 35% for SC/ST/PwD and 40% for all other categories.
Stage-II – Presentation and Interview: Shortlisted candidates will present before the Selection Committee, covering research accomplishments, future research plans, and teaching philosophy. Final selection is determined entirely by performance in this stage.
