Eligibility
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Chemistry, or a bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Science, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology or Medicine. The degree must be obtained from a recognized university.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 37 years of age as on 10 November 2026. Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates, women, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen as per official guidelines. Relaxation up to 5 years is provided to women in the general category and men in reserved categories. Women in reserved categories receive relaxation up to 10 years. Persons with disabilities in the general category are eligible for relaxation up to 15 years, while those in reserved categories may receive up to 20 years of relaxation.

The monthly salary structure for Food Safety Officer, Class-3 is as follows:
First Five Years: Fixed monthly pay of ₹40,800 per month.
After Five Years (Regular Appointment): Level-5 pay scale under the 7th Pay Commission, ranging from ₹29,200 to ₹92,300 per month, based on experience and increments.
In addition to salary, candidates are entitled to government benefits including dearness allowance, house rent allowance (where applicable), medical facilities, pension and other statutory benefits as per government regulations.
Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The selection process comprises a computer-based MCQ examination (CBRT/OMR), followed by document verification and merit-based final selection.
